Ballymena Jobs and Benefits Office based has been forced to close due to what has been described as "a premises-related health and safety issue".
It is understood that the closure is due to a major structural issue with the relatively new building which is located at Parkway in the town and opened its doors in March 2010.
The offices have been closed since Friday (4 August).
Yesterday, Monday 7 August, a spokesperson for the Department for Communities (DfC) told Love Ballymena:
"Ballymena Jobs & Benefits office (JBo) and Processing Centre was closed on Friday 4 August due to a premises-related health and safety issue.
"The office remains closed today (Monday) while further assessment is carried out. Staff working remotely are providing a normal service. Normal payments are not affected.
"JBo staff are making telephony contact with affected customers to either complete their appointments over the phone or make alternative arrangements to support them.
"Any member of the public in need of help and wishing to attend the office in person can attend an alternate JBo of their choice."
