Armed police units in attendance at ongoing incident in Ballymena

Police units are in attendance at an ongoing incident in Ballymena this evening.

It is reported that shortly before 7:00pm on Wednesday evening, 3rd January, a large number of both marked and unmarked vehicles arrived in convoy in the Ballykeel 1 estate in the town.

Witnesses report seeing armed officers poised in the area alongside police dog units attending.

It is understood the incident relates to a 'concern for safety'.
