This April, Mid and East Antrim Borough Council’s reception service in Ardeevin will move from its former base on Galgorm Road to The Braid (Bridge Street) in the heart of Ballymena.
From 16 April, the reception in The Braid will be responsible for dealing with customer queries, assisting members of the public, dog licensing, environmental health payments and waste payments.
Work to relocate the service to the reception area of The Braid is almost complete. The new location is easier to access due to its central location and provides improved accessibility.
The Braid has lift access to all floors and there are car parking spaces for customers in close proximity to the front entrance of the building.
The reception office opening hours will remain the same: Monday to Friday, 9am – 4.30pm. The office is closed on bank/public holidays.
Contact details will also stay the same phone number: 0300 124 5000 or email enquiries@midandeastantrim.gov.uk
Members of the public can also pay for services such as dog licensing or building applications online at www.midandeastantrim.gov.uk
A Council spokesperson said:
“We’re delighted the move to The Braid is nearing completion and we can assure residents that they can continue to expect the same high quality and responsive service.
“We are committed to improving the way we deliver our services and making it easier for our residents to access them. The reception move is a key part of that. The new location in The Braid will provide improved facilities, benefiting customers and staff alike.
“During the transition from Ardeevin to the Braid, full service will be maintained throughout - with calls handled through our service teams based at Smiley Buildings in Larne and Carrickfergus Civic Centre”.
