The Scenic Inn, Armoy recently held their annual ‘Shirley’s Summer Sesh’ 2024 – welcoming thousands of people to their Antrim venue to enjoy another sold out music weekend.

Pamela McFetridge, The Scenic Inn owner pulls out all the stops each year to honour her late Mother, Shirley, teaming up with ORW Promotions for this legendary event.

Drawing in crowds from far and wide, this beloved local bash leapt to new heights this year, amassing a phenomenal total of £14,331. This spectacular sum will be equally split between Air Ambulance NI and NI Hospice.

Katrina Hughes, Area Fundraising Manager for Air Ambulance Northern Ireland, commented on the event:

“This is a fantastic annual event that brings the local community and people from further afield together to celebrate and make positive memories, an amazing tribute to Pamela’s mum, Shirley.

“We were honoured to be a part of it, our volunteers on the night had a brilliant time and all while raising a tremendous amount of money for critical services in our community- we are so grateful for the support, thank you to everyone involved for helping to save lives.”

Air Ambulance NI, in partnership with the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, is the vital lifeline providing the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service for Northern Ireland. This essential service offers urgent medical assistance to seriously ill or injured patients.

The service operates seven days a week for 12 hours per day and the aircraft can reach anywhere in Northern Ireland in approximately twenty-five minutes. On average, the doctor and paramedic team are tasked twice a day, responding to serious incidents such as road traffic collisions, workplace accidents, and medical emergencies.

The charity aims to raise £2.5m per year through continued public support to ensure that the service continues to be available for everyone and are inviting adrenaline seekers to take on their upcoming abseil down the iconic Europa Hotel, Belfast, on Sunday 13th October 2024.

Taking on a thrilling 120ft abseil, registration costs only £40 with a minimum fundraising ask of £100 – to sign up today or learn more about how you can contribute to Air Ambulance Northern Ireland, please contact the team at 028 9262 2677 or via email at info@airambulanceni.org.
