Police in Ballymena have warned of the dangers and ‘devastating consequences’ of driving at high speeds in built up residential areas. It comes as a driver was caught travelling at motorway speed along the Dan’s Road in Ballymena. A police spokesperson said:
“Over the past few days we have been conducting speed checks on various roads around Ballymena.
“Whilst on the Dan's Road we detected a driver travelling at over double the speed limit at 69mph in a 30mph zone. This driver will now have to appear in court for driving at excess speed.
“The dangers of travelling at such speeds in a built up residential area are massive. Please abide by the speed limits as the consequences can be devastating.”
